What Causes Bump On The Hand?

Hi I have a bump on my left hand looks like it is full of blood not in the palm of my hand but it is just after my wrist stops going into my hand it was small and I must of hit on something today and I just happen to feel it when I scratched my hand and now it is bigger bump.
