What Causes Burning In Throat Along With Throbbing Pain In Neck?

I ve had left side tonsillitis since 2nd week of January. ENT treated me with Augmentin & Prednisone times 2 courses. I still am having worse burning & about the same throbbing neck pain & now I keep having a headache. At night I think the burning gets worse & last night it felt like it was in my sinus. It has never hurt to swallow from the start. I ask the ENT if it needed cultured & he said no. I feel a little eary because he never felt my neck nor did he look down my nose/throat with his camera. My 3rd follow-up appt is Friday, but he already said he my have to remove that tonsil if this didn t work. Five years ago this MD s partner did a right side throat biopsy & right tonsillectomy (had trouble with tonsils esp. on (L) since childhood) Why he didn t take both then?? Think I need a second opinion?? What do you think I have & test that my need done?? Thanks SS
