What Causes Burning Sensation In The Cervix Post Cauterization Procedure?

Hi, I have a rip in my cervix that my dr says must have happened when I delivered my last baby 5 yrs ago. He says the rip is very high up and is risky to do a regular cauterization so he as done a cauterization using silver nitrate. It is the third day and I have a burning feeling inside along with a red brown staining. Is this a normal reaction?
