What Causes Burning Sensation In The Finger Tips?

i sprayed acid this morning to clean car parts and now my finger tips and along my cuticle area are starting to burn and hurt. could this be from acid getting under my pores? i spray acid everyday at my job and this has never happened before. thanks!
