What Causes Burning Sensation In The Hands?

I am a singer and when I perform in churches for funerals or special Good Friday services the palms of my hands start burning and feel prickly. Some have told me this is a sign of "healing hands"? When I sing in any other venue (bars, shows, recording, etc) this never happens and usually I am cold and actually put on gloves to keep warm.. Can you explain?
