What Causes Burning Sensation In The Head?

Hi.i have for 2 years now have had a burning itcing sensation in my head often accompanied with the odd headache,i feel it everyday and effects my everyday life,the doctor has said it is anxiety and has prescribed me beta blockers but would be nice to have second opinion..thanks
