What Causes Burning Sensation In Vagina After Intercourse?

My soon to be husband and I recently started having unprotected sex. Afterwards, there is a burning irritation "downstairs" if I don't wash it out right away. He also uses smokeles tobacco. I was curious as to if the tobacco was causing toxins to be present in his semen which is causing my vagina to burn.
