My 34 year old daughter has burning through her scalp, numbness on her forehead, tender face and scalp, and headache. She has had it pretty constantly for 2 months. A biopsy was done for Temporal Arteritis which came back negative, but she had been on prednisone for 2 weeks before the biopsy. I understand this can cause a false negative. The prednisone had not, however, improved her symptoms. She is trying to get in with a rheumatologist. Should she be seeing some other type doctor? Should she continue the prednisone? We do not like the family doctor who has been treating her, so we are not returning to him. He just wants to treat her for migraines, and we don t feel her symptoms match that.
