What Causes Burning Sensation On The Right Side Of The Body?

MY husband has had a terrible burning sensation on right side. His clothing even hurts when it rubs against it. He has two mri s and has been on medication. At first they thought it was shingles but without the sores.... he is just so desperate nothing is working for this burning pain.
