What Causes Burning Sensation, Redness And Stinging Pain On Face After Washing?

Hi, I washed my face today with plain dial soap 1x with a wash rag in the shower. When I got out my face felt like it was burning so I put on my typical face lotion I use daily. That did not help remedy the then noticeable redness or stinging and as the day has progressed it has continued to get cherry tomato red and is warm to the touch and stings. My husband describes it as almost looking like windburn with a few round splotch marks . How should I treat my skin to help reduce the redness and swelling? Thanks! p.s..tried aloe and made the stinging extremely worse.s
