What Causes Burning Sensation Under Armpit?

I have been experiencing a sharp burning pain under my right arm (armpit) , on the rib area. It comes all of a sudden, out of nowhere and lasts a few seconds at a time. Sometimes it recurs seconds after the first occurrence. This has been happening now for a few days. What could be causing this sensation?
