What Causes Canker Sore On Lower Labia?

I have a canker sore on my lower labia, which I noticed 3 days ago, and now has almost dissapeared now. I have also had a history of canker sores in my mouth since I can remember (my worst outbreak being when I was 6 years old). I was wondering what this could be and if these 2 are related in anyway?
