What Causes Canker Sores In Mouth Along With Sore Throat?

Ok I went to the hospital bc I have canker sores in my mouth an had a sore throat. He told me I had a type of herpes. But before I went to the doctor my bf wanted me to give him head.... Now he says his throat an ear is aching an it burns when he goes pee? Could you tell me what this is?
