What Causes Cartilage Or Vein-like Growth On Penis?

About 4 days ago, I noticed a cartilage feeling, finger-bone looking, vein-like 'bone' on my penis. It looks like a vein, but it feels like cartilage (it's hard) and it's not been there before. It almost resembles the how veins run up, but it's definitely a finger-bone looking, and feeling, cartilage running from the base of my penis about halfway up-- Is this cancer, a disease, or a 'bone' that has pop up?
