What Causes Chest Pain In A Child?

My 8 yr old son is on an elementary wrestling team and had his first match on Friday. He complained Saturday and Sunday his chest hurt. Tonight at practice he started to cry and complained his chest was hurting again. Should I take him to his doctor to have him checked out?
