What Causes Chest Pain When Suffering From Bronchitis?

I ve been diagnosed with bronchitis that has developed into reactive airway disease. I have chest pain that radiates into my left shoulder, scapula, and upper back. I also have some minimal coughing now and shortness of breath, which is improving. This has been going on since mid-December. I m taking Prednisone, Symbicort, Pulmicort, ibuprofen, and Aleve. I also try stretching exercises, pain relief cream, and massage to open up my chest. The pain in my left scapula is the worst of my symptoms. It s so bad that it sometimes causes me to miss work and activities. I feel like the other symptoms are bad, but improving. What can I do to minimize or eliminate the scapula pain? I have a lot of crepitus and it feels like there are knots that constantly need to be worked out, but they return immediately.
