What Causes Chest Pain While Coughing In A COPD Patient?
I have COPD and am concerned when I get upper respiratory symptoms. I became really sick 6 days ago and fir the firs three days I had bed cough with mucous and it hurt my chest when I coughed I had low grade fever
Until Tuesday nite it rose to 101.7 but when I awoke it had broken and went down to 99. I took zpak which I had been prescribed a few months ago in case this happened. My worst symptoms have eased but I wheeze and the least activity ie going into next room is exhausting causing mye difficulty breathing. I spoke to dr asst. yesterday and the dr. wanted me to go to get chest X-ray right then to determine if I had pneumonia. I couldn't physically go. I felt too weak but I felt that the production. From my coughing had diminished a lot so I really don think I have pneumonia. I did have chest X-ray a week ago. I have nebulizer and when I use it , feels better for a few hours but then gets difficult again. I started taking prednisone that I had previously bee prescribed 2 @10mg but I don't know if this is right and don't know still so muck wheezing and hard breathing when I just do a very limited activity like walking from one room to next?. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations?
