What Causes Chills And Temporary Blindness In Child?

My 8-year old son was sitting, watching tv when he felt a chill and then his vision faded to black. He stood up and his vision returned & he felt another chill. He had recently been playing in the yard . Wondering if this is a symptom of something serious?
