What Causes Choking And Burning Sensation In Throat?

I've had this throat problem for awhile now. Sometimes I feel this burning sensation in my throat and it causes me to feel like im choking on nothing and I start to tear and gag. Today it happened again but this time after it happened, it felt slightly different and now my jaw line/ glands? feel slightly numb and are a little swollen.
