What Causes Choking Sensation And Severe Pain In Throat?

Lately, I ve been choking on everything- my saliva, food, water...it s like I m trying to breath and swallow at the same time. Recently, I ve ingested food in my wind pipe. It was extremely painful. Any ideas? I m not talking when this happens, by the way.
