What Causes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Along With Neuropathic Pain?

Is it typical of ME/CFS to experience some months bedbound, with flu type symptoms? I am normally highly motivated, leading an active life til 3.5 years ago when a combination of flu and life events scuppered me. In the last 3 months after a Winter virus I m even worse, struggling with basic living. I still know exactly what I want to do but its as if the jump start is missing. Have just started meds to ease neuropathic pain. Know all about pacing and graded activity. Any other thoughts on what I can do to help myself or is this something that might shift in due course?
