What Causes Chronic Fever?

good morning doctor...my mother ,43 yrs old is having fever for 20-25 days...there is evening rise of temperature... initially temp 98 F n now it reaches 101 F...she also had similar episode 2 months back...widal test was negative that time...what could be other possibilities? plz help
