What Causes Chronic Pain In Outer Arm And Leg?

For the past week or two I have developed sore outer arm and outer leg aches. It is much worse during the evening making it difficult to get up from the couch. I've never had anything like this before. It came on so quickly. I have no other symptoms. Earl December I had surgery on my foot but that is healing well. Haven't been to the doctor yet as I was hoping the pain would stop. I'm 51 years old 5'2, weight 13.
