What Causes Chronic Pain In The Rear Upper Thighs?

I have been experiencing achiness in the back upper thigh area of both legs. They feel tight like a deep muscle ache. It has been going on now for a month and appears to be getting worse. Sleeping at night even after taking motrin and Tylenol are of little help...the throbbing continues.
