What Causes Circular Spots Around The Spine?

my stepdaughter has 2 round circular spots on her spine...not like chicken pox or a bruise more like a burn n are perfect circles. they burn and itch and she can't remember if something happened like a fall while playing or something. i am concerned what could it be?
