What Causes Clear Fluid Discharge While On Contraceptives?

I missed my last active birth control pill in my last pack. My period then lasted 3 days longer as a light brown color with a lot of excess fluid in my underwear. I am now half way through my next pack and have had the clear fluid (the same consistency as water) soaking my underwear everyday since. I'm not sure what could cause this.
