What Causes Coldness, Heart Palpitations And Fever?

My grandson has a cold and he has had 4 episode where he has woken up frighten and said things were moving to fast. He is really afraid and his heart is racing. He is running a low grade fever and congested. These episodes last about 5 minutes. YYYY@YYYY . All lower case in e-mail
