What Causes Confusion Along With Bowel Incontinence?

My husband has been having episodes of confusion, wondering the house, etc. Yesterday he woke at 4:30 AM and started moaning. He repeatedly said don t, don t, don t and stop when I tried to roll him onto his side. He was like dead weight. He was totally incontinent for most of the morning. He could not realize he was having repeated BMs. Around 1:00 PM he finally calmed down and was able to get up out of bed. Was this a seizure?
