What Causes Constant Diarrhea?

i have had diarrhea for about 6 mo. i have a colonoscopy and they have tested my stool for parasites and found nothing. My doctor says she does not know what causes it. I am an 83 yr old women. When I have it i have a lot of gas. I have been taking a imodium or similar medicine
