What Causes Constant Pain In Left Testicle?

Woke up left testicle was in pain like I got hit. It has not gone away 8 hours later. Hurts when I walk. Constant ache not intermittent. If I touch it it really hurts. 44yrs old had a vasectomy at 24. What can it be. No stomach or back pain just the one testicle.
