What Causes Constant Pain In Sternum While Laughing?

For the last few weeks I have had off-and-on pains in my sternum when I laugh, but for the last couple days it has been a constant pain, or at the very least pressure. I don't remember ever getting hit or falling or anything like that, so it's a little disconcerting. Any ideas as to what it might be?
