What Causes Continued Pain In Ear And Sore Throat While On Amoxicillin?

I went to Urgent Care this past Wednesday and was told I have a sinus infection and was prescribed amoxicillan.I went in with severe ear pain and a severe sore throat.The doctor that examined me looked in my ears,in throat and in my nose.She said all were very red and inflammed.I have been taking the antibiotic twice a day as prescribed and ibupforen for the pain but I seem to be getting worse.Should I wait a few more days to see if the antibiotic really has time to kick in?Or should I seek more medical attention?Or,could it be something else other than a sinus infection?Thanks in advance
