What Causes Continuous Bleeding After Using Birth Control Pills?

Hi, I started birth control for the first time ten days ago, (sunday) which was also the start of my period. I haven't stopped bleeding, though it has been relatively light or the past week or so. Should I be worried or can I do anything to get it to stop sooner?
