What Causes Contractions In The Upper Abdomen Area?

I've been feeling what I can only describe as contractions but I'm not pregnant. I've had three kids and this is what contractions felt like then, they are very mild, in my upper abdomen area, and they come and go. I know I am definitely not pregnant. I'm 35, 5'6, and weight 127 lbs. Otherwise healthy.
