What Causes Cough Along With Vomiting In An Infant?

Hi, My kid is 6 months old and he is suffering from severe cough and sometimes vomiting. Doctor told he is suddering from reflux and suggested to use Domstal syrup and Lanzol jr 15 and asked to continue for 3 months. Could any one tell what is the issue and is it any problem?
