What Causes Cough With Phlegm And Itching In Throat?

i have this really nasty cough that hurts and i am often coughing, occasionally phlegm/snot comes up. It hasnt been as bad as it is now. i woke up from it, and my throat 'itches'. wut is it and wut can i do to stop it? also my nose is currently stuffed
