What Causes Coughing And Right Abdominal Pain?

Hi my son has been awake nearly every hour with a barking cough, feels hot to touch but temperate is 37. And now complaining of pain in his right side at the back (appendix area) I will get him to the doctors as soon as it opens but I am very concerned and wanted to know what it might be. He is due to go on holiday tomorrow :(
