What Causes Crackling In Ears In Case Of Sinus Infection?

I am a 37 year old female that was dianosed with a sinus infection last week. My symptoms were facial pain and congestion. I am on the Z-Pack (I am allergic to penicillin). My facial pain is better and I am feeling much better. However, on Thursday night I did the NeilMed Sinus Rinse (the squeeze bottle, not the neti-pot) and some did go down my throat. I think I either squeezed too hard or didn t tilt my head enough. Ever since then I ve heard that crackling in my ears whenever I swallow. I don t have any pain (just slight pressure sometimes) and my hearing seems to be fine. Will this eventually go away on it s own? Is there something I can do to help it along as it s driving me crazy :)? How do I know when to see the doctor? Thank you
