What Causes Crawling Sensation In The Upper Leg?

I have a weird crawling sensation in my right upper leg. The crawling is under the skin in the front of the leg and goes down to the knee. sometimes there is pain. I have had an MRI because of that and other problems I have with my legs. The MRI on the spine came out normal. Do you know what might be causing this sensation.
