What Causes Dark Brown Discharge After Intercourse?

I am a 19 yr and I have sex with my boyfriend. We are careful by using condoms and I'm on birth control. I already had my period. I was worried I am pregnant. And today I had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and it was on my left side. Thought my stomach was going to explode. I went to use the restroom and blood came out red, and dark brown. And there was a clot or two. It wasn't my period bc the blood was thin not thick. I don't know what is going on.
