What Causes Dark Brown Discharge From Penis During Erection?

i recently was in the houspital for a severe abdominal trauma. since my release i have noticed a dark brown fluid release from my penis during an erection. it doesnt appear to be blood and it doesnt appear in my urine. i also had a cathoder when i was in the hospital.
