What Causes Dark Gold Color Mucus While Coughing Along With Abdominal Noise?

I m coughing up(dark gold) mucas from my lungs and having alot of wierd noises(whistling)coming from my abdominal area and sometimes my nasal passages(possibly alot of decongestants).I have been real congested for about a week.my lungs feel alittle better today than yesterday but still having phelgm coming up and labored breathing..Can i wait this out and be o.k or should i go to the doctor?
