What Causes Dark Stool,diarrhea And Vomiting?

A little over a week ago I came down with diarrhea and vomiting. I was thinking it was a virus because some of our friends had had the same thing. Now that it has cleared up and I am starting to feel better I was wondering if my stool is still dark like it was when I had the diarrhea. Is that ok .
