What Causes Dark Vaginal Discharge Post Birth Control Device Implant?

I got my implant in my arm last year November the 21st a week in I did stop for 1.5 weeks but since then I haven't stopped bleeding and I noticed it is always dark brown/black and I have a few clots. I am not sure if I should wait this off or get it removed.
