What Causes Darkening Of Skin Around Eyes In An Elderly?

My Mom is 90 yrs old and through out the day she is getting black eyes one is darker than other.
S he does not remember hitting anything. Should I worry?? She feels ok has a slight headache but she has had for a couple days, just one of backg ground tpye headaches
