What Causes Delay In Period?

Hi I recently lost my virginity about three weeks ago. We did use protection but he penetrated me for about a minute without protection. After I was five days late for my period I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative twice. A week later and I still haven't gotten my period. So now I'm 12 days late. What's going on?
