What Causes Delay In Periods After Taking Depo Provera?

I was on the Depo Provera shot for a year and a half. Then changed back over to the pill a year ago. But when I changed to the pill I only got my period once, the first month on it. Next month will mark a year since I've had my period. Is that normal??
