What Causes Delay In Periods Inspite Of Taking Plan B?
Good afternoon! I have been on and off oral contraceptives for 15 years. The past three months I have not been the pill and have used other forms of birth control (condoms). I decided to go back on the pill last month. I have always taken some form of Ortho Tri cyclen or one of its generics. On Sunday February 8th I started by first new pack of Tri Linyah mid cycle, not a Sunday or first day of period start, I had my period roughly two weeks prior. I kept my regime regularly but missed one pill on the third week (February 28th) and took it the next day when I remembered in the morning. I was going on a trip the next week, March 1st so I went immediately to the new pack skipping the week supply of sugar pills so I would avoid my period. I had unprotected sex on March 7th, exactly one week after my first skipped pill. I took Plan B One Step within a few hours after intercourse as a precaution. Should I be concerned of pregnancy since 1) I have only been on this medication for one month after giving my body a rest for three months 2) I started mid cycle and 3) and I missed one pill the week before? My period will be most likely be off a bit because I skipped the placebos so if I don't get my period should I still take a pregnancy test? Please advise when you can. Thank you for all of your help.
