What Causes Delay In Periods?

I took birth control - continues (Skipping periods with dr approval for the past ten years as of this feb 18 I stopped taking the pills -I have not yet had a period- how long should I expect to wait for one :( im trying to get pregnant and I m scared now I wont get a period
