What Causes Delay In Periods?

I am 18. I have definitely not been having sex. As a matter of fact I have never had sex. I have not had a period for since December. My last period was December 31. What should I be looking to do? Let me add that the last period was unusually painful. It was heavy and it lasted for 7 days.
